Board Member, Central Bank of Armenia
Artak Manukyan was appointed Board Member of Central Bank of Armenia, effective October 28, 2021, for a six-year term. As a board member, he is also member of Audit Committee. Since 2024, he elected as a Chair of Audit Committee. Prior to joining Central Bank of Armenia, he served as a Member of Parliament and was Deputy chairman of Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs. He was also an advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Commencing his career as an economist in the private sector, he later led the Planning and Analysis division at the Armenian Copper Programme CJSC. Throughout his career, Mr. Manukyan has acted as an expert for Armenian branches of (TI, WB, ADB, UN, GIZ, World Vision). Engaging in research across institutions globally, including the Federal Reserve Bank (Cleveland, USA), Postdam University (Germany), Delaware University (USA), and the Institute for Management and Economic Reforms at the Government of RA. Since 2017-2020, Artak Manukyan has been the president of the "National Center for Public Policy Research" NGO. He was a member and elected as a chair of the SME Cooperation Association, and the Anti-Corruption Alliance, and serves as an expert on the EU "Constructive Dialogue Commitment" program. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Mr. Manukyan studied World Economics and graduated from Yerevan State University of Economics. He pursued a postgraduate course at the Institute of Management and Economic Reforms of the RA Government, earning a PhD degree in Economics and later becoming an Associate Professor. Mr. Manukyan furthered his education at the School of Diplomacy of the Swiss Institute of International Studies and the Yerevan School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe.
